The Dow closed today up 72.43 to 12943.82. Oil was also up today $3.28 to $87.03, and Gold closed up $21.90 to $1619.60.

Stocks rallied today in reaction to strong auto sales and an increase in factory orders for May. But, the big market moving news will come on Friday when the US releases the unemployment numbers for June.

Analysts predict that employers added 90,000 new workers to their payrolls in June. These aren’t great numbers, but still better than the 69,000 jobs created in May, the fewest in a year. Economists also think companies may be holding back on adding worker because of uncertainty over the US government’s plants to tighten its belt next year.
